Kayaking in Byron Bay

Enjoy paddling your own kayak through the surf and catching some waves in this four hour adventure. Get up close and personal with the friendly dolphin population and marvel at the size of the humpback whales on their annual migration.

Encounter the local dolphins, explore the shipwrecks, and paddle past reefs teeming with marine life on your three hour kayak adventure. Dolphin kayaking will take you to Wategoes Beach, under the watchful eye of the lighthouse where the local dolphins hang out.
Help the staff at Dolphin Kayaking as they catalogue the types and number of dolphins in the bay. Then take an exhilarating ride through the surf breaks back to the white sandy beaches.

Kayak on the Brunswick or the Doon Doon River between Byron Bay and Tweed Heads. The rivers flow through reserves and National Parks and are only accessible by watercraft. Led by a qualified guide, you will have a low impact, high enjoyment nature experience along calm waters.
The tours generally take about four hours and take you through changing vegetation where you will see a myriad of native birdlife. All equipment is supplied, including stable tandem kayaks and lifejackets, and refreshments are provided too.
