Byron Bay Beaches

Main Beach is undoubtably the safest and most popular swimming beach for the whole family. It is also the only patrolled beach in the area.
The Pass at Clark's Beach is a great surf beach. It's also a good spot for launching boats, so take care.
Watego's is the only beach on the eastern seaboard that actually faces north. It's an excellent surf beach, especially suitable for malibus and longer surfboards.
Cosy Corner at Tallow Beach is great for fishing while you watch the hang gliders soar overhead.
Belongil Beach is to the north of town and is famous for its clothing-optional area.
Broken Head Beach is a few minutes south of Byron Bay. Best known for its beautiful nature reserve, the beach offers many quiet, isolated spots set among palms, pandanus trees and other subtropical natives, making it the perfect place for a picnic.
| Broken Head Beach is the first in a string of secluded beaches, including King's Beach and White's Beach. Be aware that some of these beaches are clothing optional. |
